"Where EVERY Athlete is SPECIAL!!

Trampoline & Tumbling (T & T)

Trampoline made its grand entrance as an Olympic sport in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

There are four competitive events;  trampoline, double-mini, power tumbling and synchronized trampoline.

Athletes are divided into groups by age and level. There are twelve levels; Levels 1-10, Jr. Elite and Sr. Elite.  Each level is required to perform different routines, comprised of various skills.  These skills and routine are worked on during each practice and this is what your child will perform during competition or performances.

Trampoline & Tumbling

Tot T&T (Boys and Girls 3-5 years old)

This class is designed to introduce gymnasts to the three events in the sport of Trampoline & Tumbling.  Trampoline, Power Tumbling and Double Mini Trampoline are all part of this beginners class. Tumbling will focus on connecting passes to include forward and backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round offs and back bends on our 80’ rod floor.  Trampoline skills such as tuck jumps, seat drops, straddle jumps and swivel hips will be developed to teach the USA Gymnastics Levels 1-4 routines.  Double-Mini Trampoline is taught by teaching the gymnast to run and approach the event and perform two skills on and a dismounting skill. This class is for the gymnast looking to improve her tumbling and that loves to jump and flip!

Girls and Boys Competitive Teams

Trampoline & Tumbling (Boys and Girls ages 3 and above)

The competitive program provides participants with the opportunity to compete in Trampoline & Tumbling at Levels 2 and above within the USA Gymnastics Program.  Competition can teach social values and help develop personal resources for handling success, failure, stress and frustration.  Its importance lies in the pursuit of challenging goals, in striving to win through hard work and dedication, and in learning the role of effort and focus in the achievement of success.  Horizon’s coaching staff strives to use coaching techniques that reinforce the positive aspects of competitive gymnastics training. There are a limited number of spaces available within the competitive program and gymnasts are chosen through an evaluation process.  Parents interested in this program for their child are encouraged to meet with the T&T Program Director, Michelle Bourque.
